In line with the County Government of Kericho’s vision to enhance water access and strengthen food security, Champion Engineering Ltd was contracted through Counternine Ltd to deliver a sustainable and large-scale water storage solution.
The project focused on Gasheen in Kamasian Ward, Kipkelion West Constituency, a region where communities have long faced water scarcity for both domestic and agricultural use. This initiative sought to transform lives by harnessing water for daily needs, irrigation, and long-term economic empowerment.
🛠️ Scope of Work
Design, Supply & Installation of Pressed Steel Tanks
- Champion Engineering Ltd designed, supplied, and installed three pressed steel panel water tanks, each with a 200,000-litre capacity.
- The tanks were distributed across three different sites within Gasheen, ensuring widespread coverage and accessibility.
- The pressed steel panel design allowed for efficient assembly, durability, and long service life in diverse weather conditions.
Civil Works & Structural Foundations
- Each tank was mounted on reinforced concrete foundations, engineered to support the significant water load.
- Groundworks and soil stabilization were carried out to guarantee safety, stability, and long-term resilience.
Integration with Distribution Networks
- The tanks were linked to piping and distribution systems, ensuring water could be conveyed effectively to homes, farms, and community facilities.
- The system was designed for dual use: domestic consumption and smallholder irrigation.
